A tactical voting tool by The Movement Forward

Council election

West Lothian

Whitburn and Blackburn ward

11 December 2025

Our analysis of the data (including by-elections, any relevant district elections and knowledge of where the parties are putting in the most effort) in this area suggests that the contest will be between SNP and Labour (i.e. Tories and Reform can't win here) ...
Whitburn and Blackburn

... so our advice is to vote

SNP or Labour

All elections matter. Too often, the Tories or Reform win because people like us don't show up.

VOTING TOGETHER GIVES US MORE POLITICAL POWER

Millions of people could vote tactically at this year's elections. A big proportion of voters showing up mainly to prevent the right from seizing power. Register as a tactical voter by joining the Movement Forward and we can prove it. Then together we'll tell the new government how they truly can earn our votes next time.

Tactical Advice Explainer

(Whitburn and Blackburn ward)

You can vote for 1 candidate here

Please note the SNPs are committed to getting rid of the unfair First Part the Post voting system (which would end the need for tactical voting) in Council, Mayoral and Westminster elections. Labour are not.

We've manually set advice for this ward.

The analysis is primarily based on the results of the last by-election in this ward in September 2024, when Labour won narrowly from the SNP with Reform in a more distant third place.

The Reform UK threat has risen since last year and we urge all progressive voters to rank (give preferences to) all the candidates save those representing the Tories and Reform UK.

Vote counts missing for Scottish elections

Sorry, we aren't yet able to show vote counts for Scottish elections because they are STV (Single Transferable Vote) and so work differently to the First Past the Post system used elsewhere in the UK. However please rest assured it's on our list to fix this!

In the mean time, you can find the relevant information in the explainer text next to this section.
