Help Stop The Right
All elections matter. Too often, the Tories or Reform win because people like us don't show up.
Join up and we'll take you through this plan.
VOTING TOGETHER GIVES US MORE POLITICAL POWER
Millions of people could vote tactically at this year's elections. A big proportion of voters showing up mainly to prevent the right from seizing power. Register as a tactical voter by joining the Movement Forward and we can prove it. Then together we'll tell the new government how they truly can earn our votes next time.
Tactical Advice Explainer
(Fountainbridge/Craiglockhart ward)
You can vote for 1 candidate here
We've manually set advice for this ward. The analysis is based on a number of complex factors. (1) the first preference votes and transfer pattern from the last time this ward was fought under STV (a proportional electoral system using ranked preference) on these boundaries - in the 2024 local by-election for the three seats; (2) the recent pattern of voting and transfers in Edinburgh by-elections, including that in Colington/Fairmilehead in Nov 2024 where the Lib Dems won convincingly despite having been in fourth place previously; (3) the state of the parties in the polls in Scotland since 2022 - with the SNP and Labour both down considerably; and (4) the detailed analysis of transfers by Ballot Box Scotland. The Conservatives can be beaten here but this is best guaranteed by all progressive voters ranking all the progressive candidates before stopping, and it is more likely if the Lib Dems do not get eliminated before Labour (because the Lib Dem support includes more voters who would transfer to the Tories).
Vote counts missing for Scottish elections
Sorry, we aren't yet able to show vote counts for Scottish elections because they are STV (Single Transferable Vote) and so work differently to the First Past the Post system used elsewhere in the UK. However please rest assured it's on our list to fix this!
